7th Grade and Kindergarten Students Explore Science with Apple Volcanoes

St. Francis Xavier 7th grade and kindergarten students conduct an apple volcano science experiment

Last month, 7th graders at St. Francis Xavier Catholic School partnered with our kindergarten classes for a fun fall science experiment: apple volcanoes! Using apples to hold ingredients, students observed a chemical reaction that mimics a volcanic eruption. Along the way, they formulated hypotheses, explored changes in matter, and practiced teamwork as they built and studied their apple volcanoes. It was a hands-on opportunity for our older and younger students to learn together while putting natural science into action and witnessing the wonder of God’s creation!
