Last Day of School!
The last day of St. Francis Xavier (SFX) Catholic School’s 2023-2024 school year will be Friday, May 24th. Students will be dismissed at 10:00 a.m.

St. Francis Xavier (SFX) Catholic School PreK4 students will celebrate the end of the year with a Program on Wednesday, May 22nd, at 11:00 a.m. in the Parish Hall.

8th Grade Graduation
St. Francis Xavier (SFX) Catholic School’s 8th Graders will graduate on May 21, at 10:00 a.m. at SFX Catholic Church. Please pray for them as they end this chapter of their lives and look forward to their freshman year at John Carroll Catholic High School (JCCHS) beginning this fall!
Kindergarten in the Community
On Friday, May 17th, St. Francis Xavier (SFX) Catholic School’s kindergarten class will take a field trip to Crestline Village in Mountain Brook to learn about what librarians, firefighters, and law enforcement officers do for our communities.
Preschool Popsicles with Deputy
St. Francis Xavier (SFX) Catholic School’s PreK3 and PreK4 classes will have popsicles with our School Resource Officer (SRO) Deputy Marcellius Winston on Thursday, May 16th, at 2:30 p.m.
8th Grade Banquet
St. Francis Xavier (SFX) Catholic School 8th Graders will celebrate their upcoming graduation on Wednesday, May 15, at 6 p.m. at Vulcan Park.
Spring Fling ‘24
Saint Francis Xavier (SFX) Catholic School will host its annual Spring Fling during school on Friday, May 10, to commemorate the end of the school year with inflatables, ice cream, and cookies.

Muffins with Mom
Saint Francis Xavier (SFX) Catholic School invites all school mothers, grandmothers, and aunts to celebrate an early Mother’s Day with muffins and coffee on May 3rd from 7:15 to 8:00 a.m. in the Parish Hall.
2024 Spring Choir Concert
Join the St. Francis Xavier (SFX) 3rd & 4th Grade Choir and the 5th - 8th Grade Choir as they perform folksongs, spirituals, sacred music, and more on Thursday, May 2 in the SFX Parish Hall.
There will also be a school performance on Friday, May 3 at 1:30.
2024 Rev. Robert J. Sullivan Alumni Recognition Award Recognition Mass & Reception
During school Mass on Wednesday, St. Francis Xavier (SFX) Catholic School will honor Fr. Bill Lucas, the recipient of the 2024 Rev. Robert J. Sullivan Alumni Recognition Award. Fr. Lucas is the pastor at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Pell City.
The school will host a reception after Mass.
Alabama ACDA’s Young Voices Festival
Twelve St. Francis Xavier (SFX) Catholic School students will attend the Alabama chapter of the American Choral Director’s Association’s Young Voices festival on April 26 and 27 in the Moody Music Building at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. There, students will work with guest clinicians to rehearse and perform choral repertoire.

3rd Grade Field Trip to Ave Maria Grotto
Ms. Erin Meadows’s 3rd-grade class will take a field trip to the Ave Maria Grotto at St. Bernard Abbey in Cullman, Alabama, on Tuesday, April 23.
Saint-A-Thon 2024 Fun Run
This year’s Saint-A-Thon Fun Run will be on Friday, April 19 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m.
Saint-A-Thon is an annual fundraiser hosted by Saint Francis Xavier Catholic School’s Home and School Association. It consists of a marathon of pledge/sponsorship collections and a series of fun family-friendly events, culminating at the Fun Run during the school day on Friday, April 19. Our goal is to raise $50,000!
2nd Grade Field Trip to Samford University’s Christenberry Planetarium
Ms. Marie Hayes’s 2nd-grade class will take a field trip tp Samford University’s Christenberry Planetarium on Tuesday, April 16.

Diocese of Birmingham Field Day
St. Francis Xavier (SFX) Catholic School 5th through 8th graders will attend the Diocese of Birmingham’s Field Day on Friday, April 12, at John Carrol Catholic High School (JCCHS).
